How to use our API

\n

We designed the PayParc API in a very RESTful way, so that your user experience is simple and straightforward (Wikipedia). You are able to:

\n\n

Requests must be sent using Content-Type \"application/json\". The request and response body encoding is always UTF-8.

\n

Formats used

\n

Dates - All date and time values are displayed in ISO 8601 format.

\n

Case Sensitive Parameters - The parameter names in requests are case sensitive.

\n

ID - All objects IDs are given as strings (even though their content is actually an UUID).

\n

Amounts - All monetary amounts are given as integer numbers in cents (by default eurocents).

\n

Currencies - You can currently pay and wire funds in these currencies: EUR, USD, GBP, PLN, CHF, NOK, SEK, DKK

\n

The ISO_4217 format is expected

\n

KYC and limits

\n

KYC stands for Know Your Customer and entails the whole verification process of your users. This process is part of European anti-money laundering regulation, known as AML, which requires institutions such as PayParc to make sure that money transacting through their system is clean. It will therefore be an integral part of your collaboration with us.

\n

The whole verification process is automated and strictly digital, but in some cases we might ask you for a signed shareholder declaration (download). This feature is available for users worldwide and provides you with a global, compliant and trustful service.

\n

There are two levels of user verification: Light (default) and Regular.

\n\n

The default (light) verification is applied only for subaccounts.

\n

KYC: Accepted documents by country

The following tables list in more detail the documents that are accepted for KYC and compliance purposes by country.

We provide specific country level information for those countries inside the SEPA European Banking Area, and guidelines for those outside.

\n

When you create a new booking, multiple things are happening. The following picture is an example for when you use a 3rdparty connectivity hub like TravelgateX:

Possible booking errors

\n

A booking can fail for many reasons. Here are just a few of them:

  • Source wallet and the api key are not from the same organization
    • \n
  • Source or destination wallets don't have a valid UUID4 format
    • \n
  • Source or destination wallet have a different currency than booking's one. You can not request a booking in USD if your source or destination wallets are in EUR. Booking, source and destination wallets must have the same currency
    • \n
  • Insufficent funds
    • \n
  • Sending the same buyer_reference and source_wallet combination
    • \n
\n

If there is a validation error, (e.g: wallets have different currency than the booking's one), the response structure will contain an errors key and the http response code will be 500. Example:

The core of PayParc is the /booking/ endpoint. You will be using this to create bookings. A booking generates transactions of type TRANSFER between trading partners (buyers and sellers) based on cancellation policy.

If the booking does not have a cancellation policy attached, the TRANSFER transaction type will be triggered automatically and the funds will be transferred instantly.

With PayParc you can have multiple wallets in different currencies. A Wallet is an object in which PayIns and Transfers from users are stored in order to collect money. You can pay into a Wallet, withdraw funds from a wallet or transfer funds from a Wallet to another Wallet.

Currently we only support transfers between wallets of the same currency.
